Tenant FAQ's

At McMillan, our aim is to ensure that your tenancy application process is as smooth as possible allowing you to find a property that best suits your needs.

Can I keep a pet in the property?

Not all Landlords permit pets to be kept in the property and prior approval from the Landlord must always be secured before keeping a pet. In these cases, the Landlord may require a larger deposit, a pet reference and additional cleaning to be undertaken at the end of the tenancy.

How do I report a maintenance repair request?

Many repairs can be easily fixed without the need of a repair request. These include:

  • Airlocks in the radiators
  • The fuse has tripped
  • The door lock is stiff

There are many professional web sites that show how to handle issues like these safely and easily.

In terms of gas boiler issues, please see the DE Gas web site for some helpful information.

A common-sense approach is suggested and any repair that is not easily and safely fixed should not be attempted and must be reported.

If you do need to report a repair it should be done using the repair report form below. All repair requests are sent to our Contractors who will respond, usually within 48 hours.

What if I have an emergency repair?

When a repair involves your heating breaking down, water escaping or electrical faults other than a trip switch, the emergency contact number may be used.

The office must also be advised using the repair form. The form must be noted 'Emergency Repair Contractor notified'

The Contractor may consider the repair as being non-emergency, in which case it will be sent to the office to be scheduled with any other requests that are received.
